Assistant to the Executive Director

 

 The Executive Assistant (EA) works directly with the Executive Director (ED) to ensure that the Center for Environmental Health's goals are achieved.  The EA is the staff liaison to the Board of Directors, and works closely with the staff's Management Team (MT).   Finally, the EA provides administrative support for the ED, serves as the principle point of entry for CEH staff and the public to the ED, and supports the ED by ensuring that the most important issues are prioritized. 

The Executive Assistant will schedule appointments and meetings for the Executive Director, organize his incoming and outgoing communications, and assist him with projects and activities (including research and writing), as needed.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as point of entry to ED for staff, donors and public.
  • Serves as the staff liaison with CEH Board of Directors.
  • Meets regularly with ED and MT to prioritize roles and responsibilities.
  • Provides administrative support to the ED including: scheduling appointments; coordinating travel arrangements; responding to inquiries and invitations; managing contacts database; drafting correspondence; completing expense reports; maintaining files, and performing general clerical tasks.
  • Provides support for general office operations and fundraising efforts.
  • Performs duties and oversees special projects as delegated by the ED.

 

Qualifications

  • One year's experience as an Executive Assistant preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, written, oral, and listening communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task with high degree of project- and time-management capacity.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making capacity.
  • Highly organized, great attention to detail, and a self-starter.
  • Positive approach, can-do attitude, sense of humor and grace under pressure.
  • Mastery of MS Office Suite (including Outlook, Word, and Excel) and Internet research applications. (Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop is a plus, but not required.)

 

Compensation
This is a full-time exempt position with excellent benefits. Salary range is commensurate with experience.
